PLATFORM
Webapp

Production & Project Planning webapp was built for internal uses of Lane Furniture - a US based company with one of the factories located in Binh Duong, Vietnam. At the time I met them, they’re using an outdated software, and due to the needs of new features with better user experience, they wanted to revamp it.

I personally interested in this business because I had a time working in wooden furniture industry. This background helped me a lot in understanding and building this project.

Design Process

Workflows & Pain points

The client arranged a team to work with us, most of the team members were target users of the product. They have different roles & goals - which can be categorized into different Personas as we can see here:

The outdated tool deconstruct: lots of painpoints

They were using a tool called "Design Net" to manage the production projects. The initial purpose of this tool was for uploading project designs such as render photos, CAD files. It was not designed for managing the whole workflow.

I went through some quick interviews with the personas on this tool:

  • Each of user roles walked through their daily task flows.
  • Ask them about mistakes they regularly made, or any obvious pain point.
  • Synthesis the answers and seek for design opportunities.
